Spring Newsletter Volume 1
Welcome to the second newsletter from It’s About Wine! The days are getting longer, spring is here and summer is on it’s way! In the world of wine making that means it is time to get your summer wine on the go! We have lots of new products arriving this spring, so we have broken the newsletter into two issues to better explain all. We are sure there will be something to interest everyone.
Selection Limited Edition
The Austrian Gruner Veltliner kits have arrived. If you have reserved one and not yet heard from us please stop by to get it started. We do have some extras, so if you did not reserve but are interested let us know as soon as possible. Gruner Veltliner produces stunningly intense and concentrated wines that start with citrus and grapefruit aromas, hinting from the very beginning at the variety’s most distinguishing characteristic, the spicy fragrance of freshly ground white pepper. In addition to white pepper they can also show aromas of sour apples, flowers and minerals – surprisingly delicate. The steely dryness and bracing acidity of Gruner Veltliner works brilliantly with seafood, mussels, salmon, grilled halibut, fish stew, and grilled oysters.
New Spring Products
Island Mist – It’s About Wine! and Winexpert are pleased to be introducing new Cranberry Malbec to the Island Mist line up. Combining the mouthwatering juiciness of North American cranberry with the plum, blackcurrant and sweet cherry of Argentinean Malbec makes a Mist that’s luscious, lush and perfectly balanced for sweetness with a “drink-me-now” quality. Twisted Mist – It’s time once again to get Twisted! Twisted Mist, the monster party hit of last summer is back this spring with your original favourites, Mojito and Strawberry Margarita, and they have a delicious NEW friend with them in 2011 – Lime Margarita. Whether you’re looking to throw a spring fling fiesta, a summer time backyard BBQ extravaganza or you just want to relax in the sun with good company, these 3 fun-loving cocktail flavours have got you covered. Each Twisted Mist flavour is fantastic chilled down and all on its’ own, but us party folk at It’s About Wine like to mix it up a little. We serve them over ice cubes, blend them up with ice, add fresh fruit, a little soda or dry ginger, absolutely anything that sounds appealing to you. Experiment a little! But, don’t forget that weighing in at about 12.5% alchohol these guys have a slight kick, and being so darn irresistible they can go down real quick. Selection International Spanish Rose – Rosé is One of the Most Glorious Wines in the World even though it’s often overshadowed by big reds and heavier, oaky whites. The best Rosés, are subtle, complex wines that have about as much in common with White Zinfandel as the graceful art of ballet has with falling down a set of stairs! Winexpert Spanish Rosé is a luscious combination of Spanish red and white grapes, including the silky and seductive Tempranillo, creates a perfect Spanish Rosé that should be enjoyed while young, crisp and refreshing.
Full of red summer fruit aromas, grenadine, cherry and strawberry over a backdrop of aromatic herbs, it’s soft and silky on the palate, but with a fine freshness underlining the ripe berry flavours. The palate is full of bright stone fruit that is beautifully balanced with a crisp, refreshing acidity and a lingering finish with a hint of minerality.
