Happy Easter!

We hope you enjoy your long weekend celebrating with friends & family. We are going to be closed for the 4 days over Easter. Starting Good Friday April 18 through and including Easter Monday April 21 2014. We are taking a much needed break and heading down to Mesa, Arizona to find some sun.

We have some wonderful wines on sale this month! And a couple of seasonal releases to tell you about. See below for all the details.

On sale this month:

Selection – Our most popular premium wines are made from the Selection series and those who demand wines with exceptional body, flavour and aroma will be able to choose the perfect accompaniment for every occasion from over 20 available wine kits in this series. Save $20 each on these two wines:

Valpolicella  – Ruby red, this classical Italian style wine features rich, spicy berry aromas in a very dry wine with a medium body, perfect with Italian cuisine. And California Sauvignon Blanc – Crisp and flavourful, this popular grape varietal has distinctive and immediately recognizable aroma and flavour characteristics. The famous grassy, herbaceous bouquet and flinty aftertaste are here, with the generous acidity that is typical of the grape. Steely, grassy, and defiantly dry, nothing can complement a meal better than Sauvignon Blanc.

World Vineyard – 4 week wine kits featuring popular grape varietals from some of the finest growing regions in the world. The wine kits on sale this month are: Australian Shiraz – lush berry aromas escape from the glass as you swirl to enjoy. Full-flavoured with concentrated black fruits and spice on the palate. Serve with full flavoured beef dishes. Australian Chardonnay – peach and mango fruit aromas are enveloped in a vanilla-laden oak finish. Vintners Reserve – 4 week wine kits that continue to set the standard by yielding wines of excellent quality, flavour and aroma. The wine kits on sale this month are: Pinot Noir – this elegant fruit-forward red wine has aromas of black currants and cherries. Perfect for veal tenderloin or mushroom based sauces. Pinot Blanc – a dry, refreshing light-medium bodied white wine with delicate tree fruit notes, such as apple and pear. Great companion to light fish and chicken dishes. Save $15 on these two easy drinking favourites.

Island Mist – a delicious alternative to everyday wines and wine coolers. California Moscato: lush, fruity, and delightfully sweet with juicy peach and tropical fruit flavours. Moscato has become one of the top-selling white wines in North America and we have it! Our California Moscato is styled after Barefoot Cellars, and in blind tastings, scored the exact same scores as the Barefoot Moscato! Seasonal/Limited Releases: 

Australian Grenache Rosé – Unique Exceptional Limited

New Australian Grenache Rosé has crisp hints of bright red cherry, fresh strawberry and a barely off-dry, refreshing finish. Deep salmon colour with spiced strawberry and citrus aromas. Enjoy with summer salads, turkey or beef burgers or grilled stuff peppers. Only a limited quantity of this fantastic varietal was produced so get yours before they are all gone! Call us for pricing and availability.

 

Hard Limeade and Hard Pink Lemonade- Limited Release

Refreshingly tart with flavours of freshly squeezed limes and just the right amount of sweetness. Serve slushy in a margarita glass with a wedge of lime.

Flavours of freshly squeezed lemons that make for the classic taste of pink lemonade with a kick. Serve on the rocks with a slice of lemon.

The LE2013 April release is Washington State Cabernet-Merlot. A darkly powerful wine with immediate notes of oak and blackcurrants on the nose come to mingle with peppery spice and cedar, supported by a fruit-driven palate of boysenberry, plum, redcurrant and black cherry. The finish is boldly tannic, with a mouth-filling grip of dense, brambly fruit. The tannins in this wine call for grilled meat and game: steak with blue cheese butter, saddle of venison, and especially roasted lamb with herbs.

LE 2013 wines are available by pre-order only. If you pre-ordered, we will be contacting you shortly. We do have a few extra kits so if you did not pre-order and have decided you would like to make this wine, please let us know as soon as possible.
